A laurel of the prestigious Micro Artist Studio at Seiko’s facility in Shiojir, the Grand Sieko Spring Drive has an impressive 8-day power reserve. A new rendition takes a fresh perspective on beauty inspired by the night sky in the mountains that surround the studio. It a recreation of a 1969 watch by Seiko.

The 18K rose gold frames a deep black dial through which the stars twinkle just as they do on a clear dark night in central Japan. A special process that combines plating and painting, offers a fascinatingly mysterious yet perfectly legible dial. The highly polished rubies and the tempered blue screws evoke the lights of the city below the studio’s home.

The sapphire case back reveals a remarkable movement, with the bridge, the rubies and the power reserve indicator catching the eye. Another signature of this piece is the five-faceted razor edge polished hands, while process of Zaratsu polishing achieves an exquisitely sharp mirror finish.
The watch was recently showcased in India to discerning buyers and is priced at Rs 32.5 lakh for Indian buyers, however made-to-order.
