Recently, a bunch of Chopard watches and jewellery were specially flown in to Delhi for a private viewing to handpicked guests, including influencers and media as part of the brand’s 25th year anniversary celebration of ‘Happy Sport’.
Back in 1993, Happy Sport became the first watch daring to combine the most precious of stones – diamonds – with the most unexpected material – stainless steel.
As guests admired and tried some of those diamond rich pieces, we laid eyes on a couple of L.U.C watches that speak volumes about the atelier’s unmatched strength in fine watchmaking. Making a silent yet bold statement, the L.U.C watches stood out for us in the middle of all the glitter and shine.
Earlier this month, musician Nick Jonas who married Indian origin actor Priyanka Chopra made news in the celebrity world for sporting a Chopard L.U.C Lunar One Grande Date in 18 karat gold during his wedding celebrations.
And Chopard’s International Sales Manager Xavier Lassarre, who was present at the showing, was thrilled to see the buzz the watch has been making on the Internet since then. Vishawatch brings you a sneak peak into two other special models we laid our hands on.
As a part of its collaboration with Porche Motorsport as Official Timing Partner, Chopard’s Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Edition is dedicated to the new Porche Hybrid.
The imposingly sizes chronograph with its 45 mm-diameter case and flyback function beats to the pace of a mechanical Chopard 03.05-M calibre, chronometer-certified by the COSC.
Inspired by the new Porche 919 Hybrid, the stripes on the dial evoke the racing car’s rear diffuser. Likewise, the ‘919’ appearing in a red rectangle inside a 9 o’clock subdial is identical to the number of the Porche racing cars.
The rubber strap is inspired by slick tyres serving to negotiate bends at extremely high speeds.
The new L.U.C Triple Certification Tourbillion is the first watch in the world to bear the three most prestigious Swiss watchmaking certifications.
The voluptuously curving 43 mm diameter 18-carat rose gold case embraces the new curved shape of the L.U.C collection. The crown, engraved with L.U.C logo appears slimmer while remaining as egronomic as ever.
The hours are marked by delicate applied black rhodiumed Roman numerals inspired by the 1960s and topped by a minute track.
The polished and stain-brushed lugs have been entirely redesigned to ensure enhanced comfort and perfect aesthetic balance.
To emphasise the exceptional technical qualities of this genuine precision instrument, the dial also reveals original refined details giving pride of place to readability.
