SIHH 2018 – The Final Showdown

The most enthralling watch exhibition SIHH has finally come to an end. This year, watchmakers have not only stunned the crowd by their masterpieces but also set new benchmarks for both buyers and sellers. Day 4 bought in the final wave of news and unfurling of novelties by the biggest watch brands of the world.  Here are some exciting launches from day 4:

#1 Ulysse Nardin

Known and lauded for its nautical creations and oceanic intricacies, Ulysse Narden dived a bit deeper and bought on shore its diving collection. Its Diver Deep Dive allows a water resistance of 1000 meters, though not the often diving depth, this is a light weight, classy and sturdy piece within a titanium case. And worth a million dives.

#2 Parmigiani

The shelves of Parmigiani were adorned by a new addition to its Kalpa family, introduced first in 1988. The tonneau-shaped dial of the Kalpa Habdomadaire is set in 18k rose gold with a powerful power reserve of 8 days. It’s a pleasant delight.

#3 IWC

Not failing to wow us and others with their spectacular range of 150 years collection, the final showdown of IWC consisted of Tribute to Pallweber Edition ‘150 years’, a wristwatch tribute to Pallweber watches made by IWC in 1885.

#4 Laurent Ferrier

Presenting a powerful juxtaposition of performance and design Laurent Ferrier launched a fifth in-house movement in the Galet Annual Calendar Montre Ecole which features the annual calendar within its minimalistic dials. Its double checked on being very smooth, user-friendly, legible and very crisp. A genuine example of traditional watchmaking in the contemporary phase.

#5 Van Cleef & Arpels

Redefining masculine elegance is the new range of Van Cleef & Arpels, Heure d’Ici & Heure d’Ailleurs – an exclusive men’s watches collection in a midnight case. Its sleek and proportionate black dial beautifully includes pink gold time marks. The watch classically exhibits the brands expertise of dual time zones.

This year’s SIHH touched epitome of minimalism and technology. Each piece excelled in terms of design accuracy, feature brilliance and brand aesthetics. The event sported excellent networking, convivial moments and stayed true to being the finest event of Fine Watchmaking. And to give everyone the taste of it grandeur, SIHH opened its doors to the public the next day, i.e 19^th Jan.

While the horology event has come to an end, time will never stop, neither for the great watches produced there nor for us. We will continue to bring to you the best from the watch world. And urge you to make plans for next year SIHH already.
